There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

I’m happy you made it here.
You don’t have to be alone with difficult experiences and emotions. Reach out today and take the first step to feeling like yourself again.
Hi! I’m Shelby and I’m grateful you have made it this far in your journey toward finding healing. It is hard to reach out and ask for help, so I hope to make the process as easy for you as possible!
Below you will see a few of my counseling specialties, though I work with individuals with all types of experiences.
At the bottom of the page, for those who might be curious, I have added some personal information about myself.
Counseling Specialties
Statement of Positionality: As a white, cis-gender female, I am aware of privileges and accesses that my identity affords me. I understand that individuals from other races and ethnicities, trans and gender-nonconforming people, and other marginalized groups have a much different experience in our culture and society than I do. I seek to not only respect, but honor and address the differences between my clients and myself when it could be a barrier to us working together in therapy.

My dog’s name is Happy and she is my very first dog. I do consider myself a dog person AND a cat person - I could never choose :)
I spend a lot of my free time engaged in creative hobbies. I have journeyed into painting, drawing, clay, gardening, and, most recently, have started learning how to play the piano.
I identify as queer and grew up with LGBTQ+ parents and family. My experiences in the LGBTQ+ community have shaped how I practice as a therapist.
As a therapist (and a human being who is susceptible to pain and trauma as much as anyone else), I am not easily shocked or disturbed by the stories of abuse, trauma, or pain that I hear from clients. I am not afraid of your story or anything you may feel the need to talk about as a client. My goal is to be open, accepting, and a facilitator of your journey.

I was born and raised in Arkansas and I have a keen sense of family and loyalty toward other lifetime Arkansans. It is my hope that my work as a therapist makes Arkansas a better place for all to live.I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith.
My master’s degree is in counseling, and I received it from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville).
In 2025, I will graduate with an additional degree from the University of Arkansas. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision. I’m looking forward to having my name on the sidewalk twice!
